In today's world, many schools have turned to fundraising programs in order to help cover costs for a variety of student programs and activities. Fundraising programs are often seen as a necessary evil — students and parents invest their time and energy into selling people in the community items that they often don't need or shouldn't buy. What if there was a better way?
We would like to introduce you to a new fundraising paradigm — one that will earn money for your school, facilitate environmental awareness and conservation, and benefit your community as a whole: "ecofundraising." Ecofundraising programs bring money to your school and value to your community in a way that everyone can feel good about.
We have created a line of exclusive fundraising products that can be used to raise money for your school. These products are environmentally friendly, have minimal packaging, inspire people to experience nature, and have the only Bateman art available on any commercial products. By selling these products, you can raise money for your school while supporting environmental education in Canada and promoting Bateman's message. .
Schools raise money by ordering Get to Know products at a special reduced price and then selling them to friends, family, and the community at retail prices. If you order upfront (consignment orders are also available), your profit margin will be 30-70%.
We also have colour photographs of our products, order sheets and letters designed to help you achieve your fundraising objectives. Many of the products feature the art and writing of Canadian youth, which has proven to be a great motivator and self esteem booster to young artists and writers.
Using our ecofundraising program for an environmental project will earn Green Schools points for your school!
My students have been selling the Robert Bateman Get to Know Contest calendars for eight years now. Of all the fund raisers that our band program takes on, this is our most reliable and successful. The calendars themselves are always of excellent quality, both in regards to the caliber of the student artistry and the material product itself. In addition, the Get to Know staff are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They do their best to make our fund raiser both successful and relatively easy. I will continue to work with these people and this product for the foreseeable future.
The funds raised are used to assist our students in paying for their annual band trips. Our grade seven band trip is mostly a reward for all of the hard work they've put into their first year of band. We usually take a day to first perform for the students of an elementary school then spend the rest of the day at a water park. The grade eight trip is much more substantial and costly. We travel to Vancouver for three days and two nights where we participate in an assortment of both educational and fun activities. Included are two performances, a band clinic at UBC, visiting the Stanley Park Aquarium and the Capilano Suspension Bridge, shopping, some time at Playland, and more. Our fund raising assisted band trips are great motivators and rewards for our band students.
